Dianthus or carnation is a true classic in the garden centre. This variety flowers from May to September. In terms of maintenance, it’s best to remove the old flowers to give the plant energy to produce new flowers. Water twice a week and occasionally add some fertiliser to keep the dianthus in top condition. Dianthus performs very well both in a border and in a pot, as long as it gets a little shade.
